IOS 16.1 wallpaper Bug
After updating iPhone 12 Pro Max to IOS 16.1 second wallpaper goes to black on back ground after using an app. Then you have to do a reboot to bring it back to normal.

By second wallpaper I assume that you mean the wallpaper on the Home Screen.
Have you tried switching wallpaper? Maybe try one of the built in wallpapers. In addition to that, try a forced restart of your phone.

I’m sorry if I came off the wrong way. I was merely pointing out that I don’t think this has anything to do with your phone being an “older” model. My point was that my phone is older than yours and I don’t have this problem.
Is your phone updated to iOS 16.1.2? If the phone is updated and this remains an issue, perhaps you should contact Apple Support for help now.
I have the same problem. By me the to wallpapers have this problem
hope for a quick solution
I have the same problem and nothing works. It probably works with the later model of Iphones. but not 12 pro max
I have the iPhone XR which is two years older than your phone and I have no problems with the wallpapers or customizing lock screens.
I’m very happy that it works 4 u, but it doesn’t explain why it doesn’t work 4 me and how to fix my situation
