Seems like iOS 16.1 broke something since it will not remember my mac and it keeps asking me to put passcode in to 'trust this computer' when I sync it. I even tried sync it again a minutes later and it ask me to trust this computer again. This is ridiculous. My mac already have backup inside.

You are correct. This is an issue that started with iOS 16.1 for me as well. It is also well documented on the internet. Should be resolved in next update.

Same here. I called Apple support about this and of course they had no idea what I was talking about.
I upgraded to iOS 16.1.1 and no fix. Still asking for passcode for “trust” every time I back up my iPhone to my MacBook Pro.
No resolution in 16.1.1 upgrade. 😢
Add me to the list of very frustrated users due to having to type my long passwords in all my iOS devices every time I back up.
