New folder option greyed out in Finder on Mac M1 running Ventura

Greetings all,

My "New Folder" option is greyed out, I can't press SHIFT + COMMAND + N to create a new finder. I first noticed this problem when i was using macOS Monterey. I have created a new admin user to see if it is solved but to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have by any chance a Finder window selected showing the System folder?

The New Folder command will be disabled, if you are trying to add a folder to a protected folder, like the System folder.
