Over than 200GB of "System Data"

I've noticed that my Macbook shows more than 200GB of "System data" in Settings > General > Space.

Isn't really an issue for me as I have a 1TB MacBook Pro, but I would like to understand why there are 200GB of disk used for "unknown stuff" and where those files are located.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.0

What Apple used to label "Other" is now labeled "System Data".

Try something like OmniDiskSweeper for a GUI to get a good look at itemized file size and location:

Recycle bin is another category of files, so first link is unrelated.

Considering the second source, it seems it's due to VM Files, logs and cache, I've already checked caches and the total is below 20G of space. So, the are like 180GB of disk allocated to nothing, and I can't understand why they're being used.

Logs are basically clear, less than 1G of used space.
