I have noticed some spam mail is automatically red flagged?

I use mac mail flagging. I have noticed some spam mail is automatically red flagged? The spam email is actually in the spam folder where it should be but being red flagged means I have to manually remove flags from lot of email to allow me to continue using my flagging system effectively.

No rules are active. Junk email is filtered and moves to junk mailbox.

I note this has been discussed in forum previously but no clear/effective solution were provided.

Is there a way to prevent this automatic red flagging of some spam emails?

Good point made by @Luis S above.

Have No Rules I have created and do receive Spam which 98& of the time never reach the iBox but arrive in Junk Folder UnFlagged.

That is unless the users e-mail Account is Hosted on an ISP Servers.

Somehow, the Servers was instructed to Filter / Flag certain e-mail addresses or Domains and has appended a Flag to those messages

Thank you for the advice and your time.

I have deleted all the rules. The emails are received at my Hotmail account.

The email is still coming with Red Flag. It is strange as the reg flag are allocated via Mac Mail while the email arrives from Hotmail somehow already flagged

Is there anything more I can do?

Close your e-mail client on the computer Apple Mail

Log in your Hotmail Account via your favourite Web Browser.

Are the e-mails appearing there ?

Are the e-mails appearing with any type of Flag

I think I have managed to sort this out with a workaround.

As you advised I went to the outlook live website and set up a rule such that emails from the usual offenders (or in fact from anyone) is mark as a routine priority rather than a high priority (i.e the red flag/exclamation is removed). My spam email filter on the email app can then deal with the email as usual.

Thank you for your help.
