forgot passcode

i have forgot my passcode and i need to reset in order to do my software update.

iPhone 8, iOS 15

You will need to restore the device using a computer. The process will erase the device. Later you can restore your data from a recent back-up. Instructions here…

Please take some time to think and try to remember the passcode.

If you can't recall the passcode, you must reset / erase the phone and then restore the data again from a backup of your phone.
