Hi. I've updated my iPad (12.9 pro m1 5th gen) to latest ipados 16, but when I connect it to an external monitor (by usb-c cable) I still have the black bars on the sides. I've tried with hdmi also but it's the same result. Exaclty like it was working before with ipados 15. Anyone knows how to fix this ? I can't find any threads about this. Am I the only one with this problem? Thanks
Stage Manager support for external monitors is not yet available - this feature being planned for release later in the iPadOS16 lifecycle. For now, subject to its limitations, only Screen Mirroring is supported.

When screen mirroring, unless your monitor has settings that enable you to “stretch” (rescale) the image to fill the monitor screen, you will see black bars either side of screen. This is entirely normal and expected.
Thank you for your answer. I am not trying to screen mirroring. I want to use it with stage manager on like a secondary monitor, but instead, it automatically goes in screen mirroring having that bars on the sides. I've tried on multiple monitors.

While future release dates are unknown, currently stated by Apple as coming later this year, hopefully full external monitor support will arrive soon.
