macOS 12.* Updates

Hi Apple, I've been have an issue post macOS 12.* updates.

The last update install on MacBook Pro is macOS 12.6.1 on 1/25/22.

Post the update, my computer would freeze then restart, and continue freezing/restarting until I do the following: reset NVRAM, PRAM and SMC.

Does Apple have a fix to this issue?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your assistance in the matter

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster and comprise the Operating System

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale. What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

This will include CleanMyMac ,

Read some of the posting and arrive at your own conclusions.

And as the previous Contributor astutely observed this specific Application is generally known to be akin to Malware

Am not too good at reading Crash Reports and basically that could only be understood by Apple Software Engineers or other very experienced Contributor.

Alternative -->>

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

The application is free or paid from added features.

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Kernel panics are predominately caused by third-party kernel extensions and hardware faults.

As you have several kernel extensions installed, and you’ve allowed BrickMyMac to corrupt the system, I would suggest you erase the drive, install macOS, and test before installing anything. You’ll need to backup, first. Also, when you create the first user, use a different account name so you can migrate your existing account, later.

If it panics with nothing else installed, then it is hardware.

If it doesn’t panic, migrate your user from the backup.

If that runs ok, add each kernel extension one-at-a-time to test.

If those are ok, you can add your other system modifications if you absolutely need them. Don’t reinstall BrickMyMac or any other cleaner, optimizer, protector, or maintainer onto your Mac.

@P.Phillips, thank you so much for providing me with the information you’ve provided.

I didn’t realize Clean My Mac was undoing most if not all Maintenance and Protection TechTools Pro has being doing on my computer. I have completely uninstalled Clean My Mac and will eventually uninstall/reinstall TechTools Pro and test if I experience the issue again.

fyi, I ran a diagnostics on my computer and it did NOT find any issues, which is good.

Thank You and anyone that have chimed I and provided suggestions on resolving my issue.

Even if CMM was never installed ( which it was ), I not as familiar with Tech Tools Pro since lasted used back on a PPC Motorola Apple Computer with OS X 10.4 Tiger.

In those times - the Tech Tools Pro was offered as part of the Purchase of the computer.

That said, even today the Need for such Third Party Maintenance seems totally unnecessary to me. Who knows the needs of Maintenance that the maker of the Computer and the Software that runs on the computer -->> Apple

There are enough Builtin maintenance routines in macOS that require zero user interacts.

Apart from good Drive Management ( 15% to 20% Of the Total Drive Capacity ) as Empty Space, good stewardship of Their Party Software installed and used and the occasional Restart or Safe Restart to clear System Cache files - not too much more is needed for the general user.

Those builtin routines I am aware of but not qualified to describe and explain and perhaps best left to the more learned Contributor in your question.
