Upgraded to macOS Ventura 13.0, now my external Promise Pegasus disk array drives are not mounting.
In a moment of weakness (it was late, I was tired...) I installed the recent macOS upgrade Ventura 13.0 to my Apple M1 Max Mac Studio.
Upon restarting, I received a Systems Extensions Error message (see below) and my two Promise Pegasus disk arrays (respectively, a Pegasus2 R4, 2TB drive and a Promise Pegasus3 R6 24TB drive failed to mount. All else is working normally.
Checking the Privacy & Security Settings as advised, aside from noting that the Systems Settings UI has now changed completely, I could find no trace of the Promise Pegasus extensions to 're-enable'.
I contacted Promise Pegasus Support, who to their credit responded almost immediately, with the following dismaying message:
'We have not tested Pegasus unit with latest Mac OS version Ventura 13.0, but suggest you to try to install driver using below link:
https://www.promise.com/DownloadFile.aspx?DownloadFileUID=6797'
I downloaded and install the drivers, as suggested, rebooted etc., all to no avail, receiving the same System Extension Error message as before. Again, finding no trace of the extensions I had just installed.
I reported all this back to Promise Pegasus, including screenshots but have received no further comment or suggestion. I imagine (ie. hope!) that they are too busy furiously testing their units with Ventura 13.0 to get back to me.
I have devised a temporary workaround, connecting both drives to my MacBook Pro, which is still running Monterey 12.5.1 and accessing them via disk sharing over WiFi. I can confirm that both are functioning perfectly and I am able to access all the files I need (my entire life work and ongoing projects) but this is a far from optimal solution.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or similar? Do you have any suggestions as to a solution, or a better workaround?
Many thanks!
