iOS 16.1 update broke notifications; none clearing from Notification View, even after viewing in app

So I updated to iOS 16.1 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPadOS 16.1 on my iPad Pro 11, and whilst Apple fixed the issue with deleted messages / discussion threads still appearing in Messages app, now it seems notifications are broken...

Whenever I get a notification from an app of ANY kind, even if I've gone into the app and cleared the new content, the notification remains in the drop-down Notification Center, forcing me to swipe to left to clear manually.

This is a BIG bug.

I've tried rebooting the devices, no effect. Seems to also happen on my watch with watchOS 9.1.

Anyone else seeing this?

I have the exact same problem!

I spent hours with the apple support via chat and on the phone and nothing helped! I've reset the network preferences etc. Did nothing. I noticed the change about 2 weeks ago which is probably when I updated to 16.1 but it might been there before. The only notification badges I still get are when I receive an sms or imessage. Everything else is like muted without my doing. Super annoying. I hope 16.2 comes fast!
