Smart activation not working (Focus)

Is this with every Focus you have on the iPad? If not, try creating another Focus to test or recreate the Focus that isn't working: Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1. Go to Settings > Focus. 

2. Tap the Add button , then tap Custom or browse additional options.

3. Enter a name for your Focus.

4. Choose a color and an icon to represent your Focus, then tap Next.

5. Customize the options for your Focus.

Otherwise, before creating your next Focus or before the Smart Activation starts, restart the iPad as that can clear out many issues and refresh settings: Restart your iPad - Apple Support
