iPhone magnet charging normal or not

hi everyone

just received my new apple watch 8. Love it.

Came with a magnet cable, works very well

But it's not working with my iphone 12. Is it normal ?

The Magnetic cable is only for the Apple Watch. It does not work nor is it supposed to work with an iPhone at all.

My Apple Watch continues to “ding” and show the charging icon when I add my iPhone to the charging pad (2 in 1). What is the problem? I wanted to charge both at the same time and it show phone charging but watch continues to ding. I bought a Simple, Wireless Charger 2 in 1 at the Verizon store. I placed my Apple Watch on circle charger and my iPhone on the flat plate as directed. They were both charging and then watch started to “ding” and charging icon continues to circle. I took phone off charger and it stopped. Is this a power issue? Clerk at Verizon store looked at my settings and said it was all good. I have an 16.1.1 iPhone 12. thanks
