apple music choppy while on car bluetooth.

Playback in the car over bluetooth with Apple Music often skips or gets choppy. Phone calls are fine, Spotify from my daughter's iPhone is fine. The only issue is with Apple Music from my phone. I don't have a subscription this is music synced from iTunes on my Mac to the phone and I always select "downloaded" music on my phone so that I am not streaming. Not 100% sure but it seems to be worse in low signal areas which shouldn't be an issue since I'm playing downloaded music on my phone over bluetooth.

Again, not an issue in any other app just Apple Music.

Hey there Mike McKaigg,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, do you experience any issues with playing the music when the iPhone is not connected via CarPlay? If not, give the steps listed in the following resource a try that may be able to help: If you need help with CarPlay - Apple Support

Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps — checking CarPlay after each step:

1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
- If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
- If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled under Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth.
2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display.
3. Restart your iPhone and your car.
4. Make sure that Siri is on.
5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If you still have issues connecting to CarPlay, contact Apple Support.

When you get to step 7, you may need to contact your car manufacturer for help with updating the firmware on your stereo.

Also, you stated that you were connecting your iPhone to CarPlay using a Bluetooth connection, correct? If you use a USB connection instead, do you get the same results? If this only occurs when using Bluetooth, you may be experiencing some wireless interference. More details, and steps that can help with isolating and troubleshooting issues with Bluetooth interference, check out this link here: Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

We hope that's able to help.

Have a great day!
