Shockz Openrun Pro mute unexpectedly with MacOS Monterey

I recently got a new Mac with Monterey. It appears these issues discussed earlier are still a problem in Monterey.

When using Google Meet the head set goes into being muted soon after connecting, and I hear beeping to indicate that it's muted. Note - this is the headset muting itself. The mute/unmute button in Google Meet is unmuted.

I did not have this issue with my old laptop running Catalina. The headset worked great in both Zoom and Google Meet.

I thought it might have to do with having multipoint sharing enabled. So I disabled multipoint sharing, but that does not appear to have worked either.

I have taken to going into audio settings and switching from the headset mic back to the macbook mic for every meeting. I'm not having a good experience upgrading to Monterey, as my external camera has also developed quirks that require me to run setup every time it turns on since I upgraded.

Does anyone have a solution for the muting that doesn't involve running set up or audio options every time you want to use the headset.
