Pre-owned iPhone purchase

hi all,

I bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max for £700 on Facebook marketplace, phone had AppleCare+ and was in perfect condition.

I have now had it for a month and the AppleCare+ not shows coverage expired and I had a look at recycling it on the apple website for a 14 pro max. It tells me it’s on a loan!

seems that the previous owner has it on a Barclay loan though apple.

so here is my question:

if he stops paying the loan will my phone be blacklisted and useless as a phone?

Yes, there is a strong possibility of that. Barclay's has the right to do that.

Thay could also report the phone as stolen, in which case you would be the one holding stolen merchandise.

Contact the seller and see if you can get your money back. If he won't contact Facebook and make them aware of thexissue and see if they will refund you.
