wifi wont switch on

Hi I have an iMac (21.5-inch, 2017 purchased new in 2020), running iOS Monterey (Version 12.6).

I am having an issue in which the Mac will not switch wifi on.

To be clear, what I mean by the WiFi will not switch on, is that it is not an issue with connecting to WiFi, it literally won't switch on.

If i click the WiFi icon in the top right of the screen, it shows me the switch but does not act like it is on, when clicked to the on position.

If I go to the network option within system preferences, the button "Turn WiFi On", does not work. occasionally the other buttons within the menus flash from being greyed out to active for a split second. clicking this has no effect on the switch in the top right.

I have already tried restarts in safe mode and an OS reinstall with no luck.

Any help is greatly appreciated

If the Wi-Fi doesn’t show up or grayed out, try the Apple menu and select About this Mac, then system report.

select Wi-Fi on the left section, if after selection of the Wi-Fi icon on left, nothing shows up on the right side giving tech details on Wi-Fi, then you need to call or goto the Apple tech for technical support.

If the Wi-Fi port doesn’t show anything on the right side, the software will never see hardware and things won’t work.
