Contacts show many duplicates but does not find them when searching

My iMac and iCloud show many duplicate contacts when I click on All Contacts. THey don't show up when I search for duplicates. Can't seem to get rid of them.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

Contacts are duplicated Every one of my contacts in Mac Contacts are duplicated, but when I search for duplicates it doesn't find any. I am sure this somehow has to do with iCloud and the way contacts are being brought down into my Mac, but how do I fix it? They are NOT duplicated on iCloud or on my iPhone or IPad. I am running Mac OS Ventura 13.01.

iCloud contacts on Mac significantly more than iCloud contacts on iCloud.com I just spent the night sorting out my contacts and streamlining things so that all my contacts are ONLY on iCloud. I do not have any other accounts using Contacts - so please - no responses to the effect of "you may have other accounts". That possibility has been eliminated. I have 3381 iCloud contacts on iCloud.com, and 6523 on my Mac. I have also removed and/or merged any and all duplicates - a search for duplicates reveals no duplicates. I am attaching a screen shot so you can see my setup. Nothing is on my 'computer'. The green lines show the iCloud list compared to where those names show up on the list on my computer and there are clearly significantly more names. I have quit and restarted everything to no avail. Any idea what's going on?

Can no longer drag and drop contacts in Apple Contacts in macOS. Apple Contacts continue to be outdated and eating my contacts. Also, I can no longer drag and drop a contact from one list to another to attempt to fix all the issues. Why is Apple so screwed up? I also have duplicate folders and duplicate contacts... sometimes five of the same contacts. I can't figure out which group is the master and which is duplicated. Why do I have so many duplicate contacts? Why can't we manage out contacts on our own like we used to be able to do before iCloud was mandatory (no more wired syncing at home so Apple can't have our private data like all our contacts)????
