how much is a mid 2011 27" iMac with a 1tb hard drive and 16 GB of ram worth I have one with these specs and was thinking of selling it

Check E-Bay, Next Door & Marketplace. I sold a 2011 27" in 2020. It had a 1 TB HD, 256 GB SSD, 24 GB RAM and I think I got about $350. Today, I'd say in the $200 range for your machine.

In all honesty it's obsolete and isn't worth much.

If you just want to get rid of it Apple do have a recycling program. The one below is for the UK but your location will likely have something similar.

Whatever you sell it for you will have to take into consideration shipping costs unless it's a local sell. And shipping can be preventative cost-wise.
