How to remove "ghost audiobooks" from Finder to iPhone synchronization list

The first column are the books that have been synced to your iPhone.

The second column are the files making up the book that was synced to the iPhone.

Evidently there are some files missing from the Books app on the Mac that make up the audio book.

Uncheck the two books that are giving the error message and re-sync with the iPhone.

Have you completed the following steps to locate the books in your purchase history:

1. Open the Music app or iTunes. 

2. From the Account menu at the top of the screen, choose Account Settings. You might be asked to sign in.

3. On the Account Information page, scroll down to Purchase History. Next to Most Recent Purchase, click See All.

4. It might take a moment for your Purchase History to appear. Click Last 90 Days, then select a different date range.
