Can you recover deleted text messages?

Generally, no.


In iOS 16, you can tap edit and view messages that may be recovered.


In previous iOS versions

If you use messages in iCloud, there is no recovery possible.

If you do not, and have a device backup that contains the message, you can factory reset your device and set it up again using the backup.
