Can't find screen recording

I screen recorded my screen for about an hour. When i stopped the recording the preview appeared on the right bottom corner of my computer. I pressed "close" (not "delete") because I didn't need to watch it right away. The screen recording never appeared on my desktop (where it usually saves itself). I couldn't find it anywhere.

I checked all folders, I searched for "screen recording", I check based on date, I checked based on type of file, I checked the trash.

After a few experiments, it looks as if if I don't watch it right away, the file disappears! I really need it, and fast.

Help!

First, please check out the information in the following link to ensure the screen recording was taken and saved correctly, so we can rule out any issues on that end: Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac

When the Show Floating Thumbnail option is set, you can do any of the following while the thumbnail is briefly displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen:

• Swipe right to immediately save the file and make it disappear.

• Drag the thumbnail into a document, an email, a note, or a Finder window.

• Click the thumbnail to open a window where you can mark up the screenshot or trim the recording, or share it.

Depending on where you chose to save the screenshot or recording, an app may open.
