I get heavy static in my right side airpod ONLY when both airpods are in my ears.

I get heavy static in my right side airpod ONLY when both airpods are in my ears. If I only have the right in than there is no static. Same for the left but as soon as I put them both in the static in the right airpod is there. Any suggestions to fix?

Salutations jckjr64,

Provided we’re working with AirPods Pro, did you have a chance to follow the steps in the article you came through? If your AirPods Pro (1st generation) make crackling or static sounds

If so and you continue experiencing sound quality issues—or should you notice that in loud environments the issues increase and likewise with exercise, or while talking on the phone—refer to AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues.

If we’re not working with AirPods Pro (1st generation), let us know which model AirPods are are working with and we’ll look at where to go from here.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for the note. I do have AirPods Pro and yes I did follow the steps in the support notes. I also disconnected them and "forgot" them on my phone. When I reconnected them the problem seemed to have gone away but less than a minute later the static was back. The static is only in the right airpod and only when both airpods are in my ears. If I remove the left and keep in the right than the static goes away. There is never static on the left side.

I just tried them on my iPad and the issue does not recur so I updated the software on my iPhone 13 Pro to 16.0.3 and so far no static.

Thanks!
