Old music in library

Finally found my old music files in Hard Drive Library, and wondering how to get the albums back into Music App on MacBook Pro

Make sure you know where the files are located on the drive, and then add them into the library by the steps in here:

Apple Music Files Download on Macbook M1 (multiple questions) Hi, Overall Goal - I want to download my purchased music from Apple Music (Monterey) and convert those to mp3, so I can replay those using Rekordbox - I use a music-key/BPM software to tag each music file. Issue - in Apple Music's preferences, I changed the media folder location to a new named folder. That all went wel, until I accidentally deleted a folder with five music files in there and emptied my trash can on top of that. Q1: not sure if these music files are still on my Mac, but when going back to iTunes on Apple Music it cannot locate these files. What would be best? Can I somehow retrieve/redownload these via iTunes again - I don't see an option for that? Q2: How can I convert Apple's music files using Apple Music - do I convert that within Apple Music app - sorry, little confused reading online instructions?

How Do I Restore Music Information? I have a lot of music files located on my iMac hard drive. I am running 11.6.3 Big Sur. I accidentally deleted all my listed songs in Music (not iTunes). But I kept the song files. I tried restoring the Music folder which contains Music Library.musiclibrary from TimeMachine. But the music did not reappear. I can drag the music files back into music. But I have now lost all my star ratings. Is there any way to restore the music information that was maintained by Apple Music? Note that this is owned music, not downloaded Apple Music or streamed music. [I am in a bit of a panic here.]

Thanks. That worked for most ‘commercially marketed songs’ in my library, but other types of recordings from readings, courses, or more eclectic types of music/chanting that were in music files cannot be found anywhere

Can you trace back to where the files might be, or any copies you have made since the original? Also make sure you do a thorough search of the drive where you found the other files.
