ICloud deleted all my bookmarks in Safari

I changed my preferences in ICloud to save my safari information. The next day I logged on and all of my bookmarks in Safari have reverted back to how they were 2 years ago. It will take me days to find all of my book marks I need for work. How do I get them back?? I thought ICloud would save my data not go back in time 2 years!

Hi SAKDRAX,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

While it's difficult to speculate what may have happened here, you may be able to restore your old Safari bookmarks by following these steps: Restore your Safari bookmarks and Reading List on iCloud.com

"You can restore your Safari bookmarks and Reading List from an earlier version that was automatically archived in iCloud. For example, you might want to restore an earlier version of your bookmarks to recover some that were accidentally deleted.

When you restore an earlier version, your current version is first archived in iCloud so if you change your mind, you can go back to it.

  1. On iCloud.com, go to Account Settings, then click Restore Bookmarks in the Advanced section.

You can sort available bookmarks by Date Deleted, Name, or Folder.

2.To the right of the version you want to restore, click Restore.

There may be more versions than can be displayed. Scroll to see them all.

Note: Wait until iCloud finishes restoring your Safari bookmarks and Reading List before you change them. During the restore process, any changes you make aren’t saved."

Have a fantastic day!
