iPhone14 pro overheating issue

I noticed that my iPhone14 Pro has overheating issue. It gets really hot even when I am not using it.

Sometimes I see this issue even with light load like texting, browsing, listening music etc.

When this happens, I usually turn off the phone and turn it back on 10-15mins later. The phone then cools down.

My question : Is there any hardware issue in my phone? Is this a known issue for which software fix will be provided in future?

Hello SK_iphoneuser,

This page here can help out with providing a good amount of information regarding the iPhone warming up: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support

It will help to note some reasons it can be expected for it to warm up in the "Your device might get warm" section:

You might notice that your device feels warmer when you:
•Set up your device the first time
•Restore from a backup
•Wirelessly charge your device
•Use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps, games, or features, including augmented-reality apps
•Stream high-quality video

These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity. If your device doesn't display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device.

Further down will be some additional suggestions:

•Avoid leaving your device in a car on a hot day.
•Avoid leaving your device in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
•Avoid using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for an extended period of time, such as GPS tracking or navigation in a car, playing a graphics-intensive game, or using augmented-reality apps.

Cheers.

@Eric_G1: Thank you for the information.

I understand that under some conditions the device will warm up.

However, there are times when my phone is not being used for hours and when I pick it up, its hot. Wondering if there is some hardware issue like unexpected battery drain due to current leakage.

Has anyone experienced similar heatibg issue? I am thinking of contacting Apple Support.
