Change Trade-In Device

I recently bought a new iPhone 14 Pro with a trade-in of my old iPhone 12. I'd like to now give the iPhone 12 to my son and just trade-in his iPhone XR. Can I use the return shipping box they sent me and just send them the XR instead of the 12?
