Finder can't complete the operation because some data "Folder name" can't be read or written. Erro code -36

I am having an issue where if I move a folder I get a warning from finder:

"The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “folder name can’t be read or written.

(Error code -36)"

I am using icloud (throughout my apple products) and also google drive (for work).

The problem only occurs when I try to move folders from icloud to google drive.

The same problem does not happen if I move a folder from google drive to icloud, only icloud to google drive.

The solution is to create a new empty folder in google drive and then move all the files individually from icloud to google drive, but that is getting increasingly annoying as I have to copy the hierarchy folder tree of each folder I want to move...

This issue only emerged around a month ago, before everything worked fine.

Any ideas?

Have seen this once before and that user Signed Out of iCloud completely.

Restarted the computer and copied the Folder to New Location ( your case Google Drive ) than signed back into iCloud.

Something about * and other types of symbols in file names as root cause.

Will try to find the exact Thread and if found, will post that link in your question

Found the Link -->>> Error 36 in Finder for every folder I try to copy to an external drive
