Stateful Firewall Installation

Each time I turn off my MacMini I get the prompt that "StatefulFirewall is being installed. Interrupting the installation may damage your computer. You can restart when the installation is complete." Yet I can't force-quit the installation. Here is a screenshot of the same. Is this a needed installation? How do I successfully force-quit it?

I cannot get rid of this popup. I've done a forced shut down several times and the box won't go away and the application won't finish installing.

Unfortunately starting my Mac in safe mode doe not allow me to use some of my desktop functionalities. Therefore, not sustainable. Otherwise, the bug is still here. It is such a nuisance because I have to long press the power button each time to turn off my computer. This is not a good thing for my hard disk on the long run. Is there any other way of getting rid of the bug?

That's exactly what is going on with me. The program hasn't landed anywhere to be deleted or even parts deleted as suggested in other forums. My Mac hasn't slowed down noticeably yet, but after reading all the info I can find - I'm sure it will. I'm doing

a deep scan right now to find any parts left behind. The program isn't trying to download right now, but that's what happens... later on, I'll see it trying to do so. It's so random.

Thank you Omar_A1 for your response.

Unfortunately, this situation has persisted. I have had to boot the Mac into safe mode a number of times. It doesn't show any indication that it is finishing the installation. Neither does it give me an opportunity to remove that software. For the last 1 week I have been forcing shut by long-pressing the power button. Now the Mac has progressively become slow. Please help.

Hello martinmnyao,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

These steps may help:

Important: You can force a shutdown if necessary—for example, if your Mac becomes unresponsive—by pressing and holding the power button until your Mac shuts down. You may lose unsaved changes in open documents.

More details can be found here: Shut down or restart your Mac

We would recommend booting into safe mode to either finish the installation or remove that software: Start up your Mac in safe mode

Let us know if the issue persists.

Cheers!
