Why can’t I purchase AppleCare if my warranty hasn’t expired?

I haven’t had my MBP 14 a year, but now it’s too late to buy AppleCare?

how to extend AppleCare past three years The AppleCare+ coverage on MacBook Pro expires in a few months. I believe there is a way to continue paying for AppleCare+ month-to-month. How do I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Policies appear to have changed a lot since you did your research.

Current policy is: You must purchase Applecare PLUS within 60 days of receipt. It is not available later.
