Printer constantly showing offline

I have followed a previous post in regard to printers going offline. I have two printers as well and both of them, a brother and a canon go offline. When I reset them it works until I I try them later. Then they are offline again. If a printer works when you reset it, it works. If it goes offline it is not because Apple does not support it in one way or another. I have all of the correct drivers as well. It just started happening at Catalina, 10.15. It's an older iMac late 2013, so I cannot use Monterey.

I also have a Mac Mini M1, 2020, Monterey 12.6 (latest update). The same thing happens.

I also have an apple laptop I purchased in 2019 (the same thing happens) and a laptop PC on this network. The PC always works. So I would venture to say that there may be an issue with the Apple system in a wireless network setting (in regard to printing). I can get on the internet with no issues.

When I turn the printer off and turn it on or reinstall the printer it works fine. Not a solution but a fix when I really need to print.

My router is a Linksys MR 9600 V2. Not the latest but not old and it is updated.

I am not the only person running into this. So what is Apples official answer.

Have you tried to power cycle the router? The router would seem to be the common element since you are using multiple Macs with two different versions of macOS and it occurs to two different branded printers. While the Windows PC may not experience any problems with those printers, it doesn't mean the Macs/macOS don't have an issue with the router's WiFi.

Fully agree with HWTech.

Device/computer discovery problems are not unusual. If AirPrint is used, it is important that a router properly handles Bonjour/mDNS.

Modern routers may have automatic device detection and band selection. This could cause difficulties. It may become necessary to choose a manual setting and split/rename bands.

Also, if Wi-Fi is used for the printer connection to a router, one could wire the printer by Ethernet to one of the LAN ports instead (provided, of course, that the printer in question has an Ethernet port).

If you are using AirPrint, and in other cases, you could try the following full procedure (in this order, and with these waiting times):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer(s), the Mac(s), and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer(s). Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac(s) Finally, power on all other devices/computers.
