My messages won’t deliver but I can see their location update why is that?

Yeah so someone that I’m trying to send a message to I called their phone which rang the usual way before going to voicemail. I have their location and can still see it actively update but my messages which are still blue do not end up getting delivered it’s weird

Hello Sneakysnape,

If you're unable to send messages through the iMessage service, you can start with these basic steps:

  1. Update your device to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS if needed.
  2. In the Settings app, tap Cellular. Make sure that your phone line is turned on. If you use multiple SIMs, make sure that the phone number you want to use is selected and turned on.
  3. In the Settings app, tap Messages. Turn iMessage off and then back on.
  4. Tap Send & Receive.
  5. Tap the phone number that you want to use with Messages.

If you're seeing a red exclamation point next to messages you send, you can try these steps to see if it will send as a regular SMS text:

  1. Check your network connection.
  2. Tap the red exclamation point , then tap Try Again.
  3. If you still can’t send the message, tap the red exclamation point, then tap Send as Text Message. Messaging rates may apply. Contact your carrier for more information

If you're still unable to send messages through iMessage, you'll want to contact Apple for assistance: Get Support
