how much ram can my computer take

I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012 model, has 8gb of ram. Is that the most it can handle?

If your computer isn't a Retina model, it can be upgraded to 16GB.

If your computer is a Retina model, the RAM isn't upgradable. The model can accept 16GB, but only if configured with it when ordering.
