Those are "pinned" tabs. Drag the tab to the right, which will expand it. Click that tab's x icon to close it.
Refer to Unpin a website in Pin frequently visited websites in Safari on Mac - Apple Support.

It seems like these three icons have snuck on to my machine somehow. The "M" say "activates my songbook.com" Never heard of this I want it gone.
The "G" on the left says' kiesel guitar repair" which is a reference to Carvin Guitars down in LA, now renamed Kiesel Guitars. Don't want that either.
The "G" on the right is a link to a guitar tab from some obnoxious site called Ultimate Guitar.com
How do I get rid of this garbage??
The only extension I have installed is a Dropbox extension. I found out tonight also that since I have only OS 11.7 that a lot of extensions are not available to me. Could not install Ghostery for example which might have prevented this. This is really aggravating!
Thanks for that info, it enabled me to not only get rid of them, but to also learn more about my browser(s) and get rid of Google as much as I could. All of that stuff I traced back to Google. Somehow I had gotten on a track that collected those sites and pinned them to me instead of just logging them as history. Really irritating. Thank you very much for your help, mightily appreciated.

Most likely, it is a Safari Extension that you installed.
