Hi,
An Epson SC-P900 is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model with support for the driverless AirPrint technology. An AirPrint-enabled model is compatible with macOS and can be used without the need for additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). AirPrint works with wireless (Wi-Fi) or wired (Ethernet) network connections. This printer could be wirelessly connected to the Wi-Fi router, or by Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports.
In case there is a problem with AirPrint discovery, you may want to try the following full procedure (in this order):
Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac, and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.
You could test the printer's ability to use AirPrint via an iPhone/iPad as well.

Hi,
1) the printer is connected wirelessly to a router and it works fine with another computer on the network.
2) Epson's software works fine with Big Sur. That' what's on the other computer on the network.
3) Epson software is excellent and I don't understand why it won't install ... I get a "An error has occurred". (see below)
4) I've turned on "App Store and identified developers" and unlocked ... make changes.
5) The bulk of my work is high res images and would prefer to use Epson's software.
6) Are you a robot?
I've never gotten the message below ... so .... whats up?
Thanks
What happens if you try AirPrint? That is, without any drivers/software from the printer manufacturer. As mentioned in my previous message, the printer must then be connected (wirelessly or by Ethernet cable) to a network (Wi-Fi router).
You may have to reset the printing system (link above) between tests.
Thank you for the additional information.
It is understandable that you want to use the Epson software. However, if the software cannot be installed, does not open, or does not work with an operating system that it probably is supposed to support, you may have to contact the printer manufacturer for advice.
If you do not want to check whether the AirPrint technology (not to be confused with wireless printing in general) possibly could be used, at least as a temporary workaround, fine. This is a user-to-user forum, and I do not know all the answers.
6) Are you a robot?
Fellow international users volunteer their time to help other users in these communities, and occasional Apple community specialists may also assist in this effort. There are no robots here.
Epson's software may work fine with Big Sur, but that is no assurance that it was designed and compiled by Epson to work with macOS Monterey (12.6) — even if the Epson site suggests that it does. If the installer breaks on Monterey, then you are done and AirPrint is your remaining solution.
I used the most recent drivers from Epson. this is the message I get. Thanks,
Larry
have you installed the latest software from their site?
Yes, I'm using the most recent Epson software and 12.6 is up to date.
