Ask to buy from my kids only shows on my iMac, not on my iPad or iPhone (all using the same appleid). How do I fix this?

I use family sharing, but when my kids ask to buy apps, the request only shows up on my imac (not my iphone or ipad). All are signed in with the same id (it used to work).

There is nothing hidden in the message/notification center on pad or phone.

I've tried to restart both both my and my kid's ipads.

Hi oyzmo,

It sounds like you're getting Ask to Buy requests on your Mac, but not your iPhone or iPad.

Make sure to review Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy, That's a great start, but we have some additional advice for you.

Follow the steps in the section, "If your Ask to Buy requests are missing" in the resource linked to your post, If Ask to Buy isn't working. You'll want to double-check some of the settings you already mentioned and more using the advice in that link. Additionally, you'll want to check out the steps in the section "Make sure that you're using a supported device."

If you review the above information and the issue remains, have you had a chance to check your devices for updates? Updates resolve issues both big and small.

If the issue remains after following those steps, let us know what steps you had a chance to try from above.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!

Hey oyzmo,

Thanks for updating us. And to confirm, the other devices have Do Not Disturb turned off, right? Do Not Disturb can prevent Ask to Buy requests from appearing: Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

1. Go to Settings > Focus.
2. Tap Do Not Disturb.
2. Verify Do Not Disturb is not enabled, or set to Turn on Automatically.
To check in Do Not Disturb from Control Center:
1. Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPod touch, or on your iPad
2. Verify a Focus or Do Not Disturb is not shown.

Also, try toggling Ask to Buy off then toggle it back on again in Settings > [name] > Family Sharing > Ask to Buy as this may refresh the settings for you and ensure it starts working again.

Keep us updated!

Hi!

Thank you for suggestions. Unfortunately none of your tips solved the problem.

My iPhone XS and iPad Air 4th gen are fully updated, both system/iOS and apps. My sons iPad (2020 edition) is also fully updated.

I have no problem viewing and updating game time, allowed apps and so on. That works flawless.

The only problem is that whenever my kids ask for permission to buy/download a new app, the message/notification only appears on my iMac (not my iPhone and not my iPad which of course are signed in using the same Apple ID). There are no hidden notifications in message center on my iPad or iPhone.

It is quite frustrating having to logon to my iMac and enter my password every time one of my kids wants to try a new app or game.

To summarise: All devices are up to date. All parental family sharing and screen time features are working. BUT when one of my children asks permission in app store for a download, the notification only pops up on parents iMac (not on parents iPad og iPhone).
