Search web button always open Safari

I also have this problem using Brave (still based on Chromium).

I have default browser set for both Brave and Safari.

I don’t see any settings related to Siri that might affect this. I suspect that it’s a bug.

If we understand your post correctly, when you place your cursor on some text on a webpage and click search web it always opens in Safari even though you have your default browser set to Chrome. We'd like to help!

Let's check two settings on your iPhone.

Settings > Chrome > Default Browser App. Make sure this is set to Chrome.

Next, Settings > Safari > Default Browser App. Make sure this is set to Chrome as well.

Generally, when you're copying text and then searching, it's part of Siri Suggestions on iPhone, so that may be something you want to look into as far as a potential cause. Also, is this the only time when Safari launches on your iPhone, or are there any other instances where this occurs? Knowing that may help narrow down the cause even further.
