How do I disable headphone mic?

I need to disable the headphone mic on iPhone please, so that I can record on GarageBand using the built-in microphone. Why does there seem to be no input setting? Previous answer said “go to GarageBand preferences and adjust audio input” but I can’t find GarageBand preferences anywhere! SOS!

Hi MicQuestionPls,

We understand you are looking to adjust the microphone settings when using GarageBand for iPhone. There currently is not a feature setting to disable a headphone microphone. If you're needing to reduce the noise level when recording, follow the steps and article below.

"Tap the Input Settings button , then turn Noise Gate on.
Drag the Noise Gate slider until the noise stops or decreases to an acceptable level.
When you finish, tap Done".
