erasing wrong letters

is i it possible to correct wrong letter or number into the word without swype from end of the word to incorrect letter/number? by simply pressing the place with the wrong letter/number or place after that letter/number

Yes, it is possible.

There are two ways.

Change the Keyboard to Trackpad to move the insertion point (Cursor). Press and Hold the spacebar and move your fingers!
Also, the second option is to touch and slide your finger, watch the gif below

I know both method but wouldn't it be easier to press the place after the wrong letter?
