I can not bring up my compass face on my Apple Watch (Series 7)

I have an Apple Watch Series 7, updated with latest software (Watch OS 9.0) I go to the compass app and all it does is go around in a red circle. How do i bring up a compass face?

The compass always covers my new series 8 watch face unless I am using an app. My new series 8 Apple Watch worked perfectly for one month. Then I woke up one morning with the compass covering the face of the watch. This was two months ago. Geek squad told me this problem would likely resolve when the watch was updated. There have been two updates, and nothing has changed. I am able to use apps and notifications normally, but as soon as those end, the compass appears again on the face of my watch.

Apple Watch Ultra - Compass always showing Hi, the watch face on my Ultra watch always defaults to showing the Compass. I've removed it as a 'complication' from my watch face, but it still keeps showing. Does anyone know what to do, please?

Compass always on my Apple Watch 7's compass is constantly coming on, replacing my watch face? Is this a glitch from the latest update or something I did?
