How to use lock-screen editing in iPhone 8?

Thanks for your prompt response. The problem is that the "+" never shows up at the bottom. Only the "+" at the top right corner for widgets, but not for screen and text editing. I've just read on https://www.ultfone.com/ios-16/ios-16-on-iphone-8.html that lock-screen editing is not avaialbe in iphone 8.
One point that isn’t obvious; you cannot edit the image that was transferred from your previous phone; you must select a new image from either your photos or the image library.
