Slow and interrupting wifi connection to some routers

Hi,

I have had this now several times:

connect to a Wi-Fi router
be close to it and have a good signal
have a terribly slow and unreliable internet connection
connect to the same router using my phone and hot spotting my MacBook -> perfect speed and reliable connection.
Other phone/laptop devices around me also have no issues with the router.

This does not apply to all Wi-Fi routers/connections, just some.

Any ideas?

Thanks. Ideally, I am looking for solutions that are not on the router side, as I cannot change the settings of random routers in other people's homes and places of business.

Then the best I can offer.

Since the User ( you ) control the computer - keep it up to date at all times.

As you do not have Direct Control over Routers of Others - carry an Ethernet Cable with you when out and about.

It will avoid to Lack of Control over Other Persons / Company's Equipment and will give a more Reliable and Faster Speed too.
