I have tried everything but can't get my iPhone to show up on my Macbook while on the same WiFi network, after following Apple articles. I have found a solution though, which is not available on the internet but Apple support helped me with, which I will be posting in the replies.
First of all, make sure you follow this article Sync content between your Mac and iPhone or iPad over Wi-Fi - Apple Support (IN)
Login with your Apple ID on both devices.
After that turn off "Private Wi-Fi Address" option for your WiFi network in Settings on your iPhone.
Restart both devices.

Connect iPhone to Mac
