Do not disturb mode

Hello, so I don’t know why but when I use to put my iPhone on do not disturbe it would show me only the notifications of the two people I had selected to receive iMessages from. But now it’s showing messages from other people that I have not selected to and I basically want to know why this has been happening and I don’t know how to fix it
