When I hold the lock screen it doesn’t show the wallpaper customization screen.
no matter how hard I push it doesn’t show. I used to be able to hold with no force and it’d show the customize screen and now idk what happened.

Let's just Force Restart your iPhone:
When your phone comes back up, you'll need to enter your passcode to open it. Then try to customize the lock screen.
Assuming you are using iOS 16, you push harder on the lock screen wallpaper to bring up customization.
I tried doing that and it doesn’t do anything
What exact model iPhone and what exact iOS version is running on the iPhone?

OK.....you're up to date. When the lock screen opens, put your finger in the middle of the screen and push HARD.
bbroooo thank you that was so annoying not being able to switch my wallpaper. I got like 10 different wallpapers after restarting.
Remember that procedure. When something doesn't work as expected, it often fixes things.
