Updating my iPhone Pro Max 13 to IOS 16.02 all recent phone calls are gone. Why? Anyone else with this problem?

Greetings Spamfighter,

If all your history is missing, we’d like to have you check to see if perhaps you were syncing with iCloud Drive and now are not. Per View and delete the call history on your iPhone “To keep call history up to date across all devices, turn on iCloud Drive.”

You can verify that in Settings > your name > iCloud.

Also, do you use any other devices with your Apple ID? If so, and depending on your settings, the call history may also be appearing within the FaceTime app on that device as you can use other devices to make/receive calls as laid out here - Make and receive calls on your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks.

Thanks for your valid feedback. However, iCloud drive was set up on iOS 15.7 before the update and is still set up under 16.02. Funny thing, on my wife's iPhone 13 Pro the same update didn't loose her phone history. Well, this was just an observation for Apple's benefit, as the history builds up again. What I would like to see is an option re "duplication of the call records list under Recents" to stay on or not. On, if someone likes the history, i.e. dates and times of various calls to the same party; OFF, which I like, to just have a fast way to call a person. Presently after selecting a person to call from an existing list, I make an effort to delete the old record (if I call that person more often) or new record (if I call that person very seldom) to keep my list manageable. If there would be such an option, that manual task after the call would be eliminated. Of course I also employ Favorites for a very limited number of contacts.
