Siri answers with Chinese text

I upgraded from iPhone 7 to 14 Pro Max with iOS 16. Siri is answering with Chinese text when I am asking when Liverpool plays next. It doesn’t happen that way on my iPad nor on the old phone. I believe it is a setting from somewhere. When I started up the 14 I let it transfer the settings and data my iPhone 7. Any hints about where I should look to correct this?

I have additional keyboards Japanese and simplified Chinese. My system is set to English as primary language.

In Settings > General > Language & region under Preferred Languages I have English (iPhone Language) at the top. Second is Japanese, and thirdly, Chinese.

I deleted Chinese and Siri stopped putting Kanji text on the answer. When I add Chinese simplified as the third language Siri adds the Kanji text to her answer. I guess I'll have to remove Chinese as one of my preferred languages.

I feel that it should not be that way. Otherwise, Japanese Katakana characters would show up before Chinese.

I'll leave it this way since I can still write in Chinese when I need to.
