MacBook Pro 2019 won’t turn on
Hello all, just some context here: last week my MacBook Pro stopped turning on once I closed the lid. I had used it 2 hours prior, closed the lid and once I got home it wouldn’t turn on. I plugged it in to a few different outlets with my charger and no result. I had tried an SMC reset as per the apple supports instructions and no result.
After a few days I decided to take it to apple where they used my same charger and it magically turned on. The person at the Genius Bar checked a few software issues I believe and told me everything looked alright. I was also told it’s alright to not shut the MacBook off and just to close the lid.
After using my laptop last night, I decided to leave it on charge overnight as the battery % was pretty low. I closed the lid, and left it on charge and now this morning it seems to have the same issue where it won’t turn on. I’ve tried a few different outlets and same result. I’ve also given the laptop a few hours since taking it off charge to turn it back on.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the cause of this issue is so that i can just get it repaired rather than taking it to the Genius Bar and having it magically just work. I’ve owned the laptop since 2019, I’ve noticed that it does sometimes get hot. If it is something like a logic board failure, does apple care + cover the costs of a repair?
