Watch notifications waking me when in sleep focus on OS 9

Hello,

I have worn my watch since series 0 every night while I sleep to track my sleep (at first, a separate app, now I use the built-in functionality). I now have a series 7. Up through the latest version 8.?, when my watch automatically entered sleep focus, notifications stopped dinging and thumping my wrist. Since upgrading my iPhone to 16 and my watch to version 9, EVERY night it has awakened me at some point and I can't figure out why. Is this a bug that will be fixed soon or what? Here is how I have sleep focus set on my phone:

You can see I have NOT allowed notifications from any apps or people. I have my watch set to mirror my phone. What am I doing wrong?

Hey jimtpowers,

Try setting a Sleep Focus directly on your Apple Watch instead of mirroring the iPhone and see if this has any impact on the issue. This could isolate the issue. Here’s how to do this on your Apple Watch:

1. Touch and hold the bottom of the screen, then swipe up to open Control Center.

2. Touch and hold the current Focus button, then tap a Focus.

If no Focus is on, Control Center shows the Do Not Disturb button .

3. Choose a Focus option—On, On for 1 hour, On until this evening/On until tomorrow morning, or On until I leave.

Thanks for getting back to us with that information, jimtpowers. It’s appreciated.

Even though the advisor you worked with has most likely reported the issue you’re having, Apple does appreciate all feedback regarding their products, services, and features. If you'd like to provide this feedback to Apple to be reviewed, you can do so using this link: Feedback - Watch - Apple

In any case, we’re glad you’re able to finally sleep uninterrupted by your Apple Watch through the night!

All the best.

I had already tried that. Ultimately, I called support who told me the entire focus system was re-designed. He suggested I delete the focus items I already had and re-create them. That solved the problem. This was a fail on Apple's part. The upgrade should have made the required changes automatically, especially since it wasn't apparent to me or the support person what changed.
