iOS 16 : cannot setup another Apple ID for message & FaceTime

Hi, on my iPhone I have always been using a different Apple ID for message and FaceTime.

i change to a new phone today and transferred from the old one, all on iOS 16.02. But I cannot reconnect Message and FaceTime to my secondary Apple ID account.

when pressing « use my account » I used to have a window asking « use your account » or « use other account ». That does not appear and only connects to my iCloud main account now.

does anyone know if something changed in iOS 16?

thanks

Hi there Guillaume Fiastre,

If you turn off iMessage and FaceTime on your iPhone, restart your device using this, then select the 'Sign in with your Apple ID' option in either Settings > Messages or Settings > FaceTime, do you get a prompt to sign in with another Apple ID? Restarting and toggling these settings on/off can refresh the software and resolve issues like this.

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
The volume button is located on the left side of the device, and the side button is located on the right

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

If not, then we would recommend reaching out to Apple Support. They would be the best equipped to investigate this behavior further.
