Apple Education Discounts

Some years ago I bought my grandson an Imac as a present following his acceptance at Oxford University. I now want to buy another grandson a similar computer, following his commencment at university. I believe that now he has to verify his status as a university student. Does this also mean that even when I have his verification details, I cannot purchase a discounted computer as a surprise present?

Student Discount programmes from Apple, where available, require that eligible students are enrolled in a recognised education programme within the country of purchase.

In most countries, the key to accessing Apple’s Educational Discount programme is being registered with UNiDAYS.
